De Groene Os Fish Omega Dog/Cat 250 ml is a fish oil that is rich in the essential fatty acids EPA and DHA and supports various important functions in the body of dogs and cats. The two most important essential fatty acids for dogs and cats are EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid).
EPA is important for the heart, blood vessels, respiratory system and nerve cell communication, among other things. DHA has a major influence on the proper functioning of the brain. Sufficient DHA ensures good concentration and better learning performance. Due to the presence of DHA in omega-3 fatty acids, this fatty acid is recommended during pregnancy and lactation.
Dogs and cats have little or no access to the enzymes necessary to convert essential omega-3 fatty acids from vegetable oils into EPA and DHA, so it is important that they are offered these fatty acids from animal sources. Linoleic acid, an essential fatty acid in the omega-6 category, is usually present in excess in the diet.
To improve shelf life, natural vitamin E has been added to Fish Omega.
